Roberto Clemente I am Roberto Walker Clemente #21. I was born on August 18, 1934 and raised in barrio San Antonio a section in Carolina, Puerto Rico. My parents were Melchor and Lisa Clemente. One strength was that I have always had a passion to play baseball and was good at it. At the age of 18 years old, on October 9, 1952, I foreshorten a contract with the Santurce Crabbers of the Puertorican winter league. Throughout my time with them my fans extol me. Then on February 19, 1954, I signed a rattling contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Apparently I did not know that I was going to be offered another team on November 22, 1954 with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an unprotected player. I was truly happy just to be able to play baseball with all my heart. On airy latitude 31, 1954, my oldest brother Luis died of a brain tumor. This made me very demoralise and had me play even harder than before.
